36w Solar Power System

I got these new solar panels to power my workshed which houses elctronics and other such stuff. I bought two 18w solar panels off ebay from seller esolar2004 for £135 including delivery. There is wooden braces connecting them across the back. The power out puts are put in parallel (connecting +'s and -'s together) and the power is run to the shed through cable.

The solar panels:

Controls and Battery

I have got a new charge regulator for this solar panel, a 5A regulator again from maplin. I have put the new charge regulator and a cigarette lighter socket in a plastic box also from maplin.

The regulator is screwed down and also small holes made for the wires are drilled. A large hole is drilled for the cigarete lighter socket as well. The incoming power from the solar panels comes in on the right and the battery cables come out the bottom.

The battery:

The battery is a Hase 33ah battery, also off ebay. The battery cables are actually extension plug cables, with the separate wires inside being used for different connections. As you can see, the green wire isn't being used but is left on just in case it is needed. The connections are by crimp connectors fastened to the battery terminals with the included bolts.

The whole project came in at about £200 and has provided me with more than enough power whenever I need it.
